Open Call

presented as a pavilion under the wrong biennale's 2o25/26 theme artificial intelligence, anything but this invites fully human-made artworks created under the influence of ai.

artists are encouraged to interpret the prompt in whatever way resonates most with their practice — some may imitate algorithmic aesthetics through handcrafted means; others may engage more conceptually or poetically with the social, political, and philosophical implications of ai, touching on themes such as labor, surveillance, authorship, authenticity, etc. or they may propose an entirely different approach.

the project aims to present presence through absence. just as shadow shapes light and silence tunes sound, the absence of ai provides a lens through which its influence is made clearer.

all media and approaches are welcome, as long as no ai or machine learning tools were used in the act of creation.

anything but this is accepting submissions for its online pavilion as part of the 2o25/26 edition of the wrong biennale.

eligibility: open to all. there are no submission, registration, or exhibition fees. works that use ai or machine learning tools are ineligible. the wrong biennale is not a commercial art fair or nft marketplace. works that include paywalls, crypto wallet requirements, or other exploitative practices are ineligible.
